Permanent lip tint
Although often referred to as Permanent Lipstick, it is much more subtle than that. This treatment is not meant to hide your lips behind bold colour, but enhance their natural shape & beauty with a much more subtle tint/blush effect.
This is not only a fabulous treatment for younger women merely wanting to enhance their luscious lips, but also for more mature ladies who’s natural lip colour has started to recede over the years, & because it is so subtle, no-one need know you’ve had anything done!
Does lip tinting hurt?
Permanent Makeup is essentially tattooing, & like with all tattooing there will always be some level of discomfort, which is somewhat dependent on the individual’s own pain threshold.
However there are topical Anaesthetics that can be used before and during the treatment that make the discomfort very minimal, and having a perfect set of beautiful lips is totally worth it!
Will it make my lips bigger?
No, it will not make your lips bigger or fuller physically. The only way to achieve that is through lip fillers.
It will, however, put the colour right up to your natural lip line, giving the appearance of looking fuller, much like an eyelash tint does for your natural lashes.
Will it look like lipstick?
The thing with all Permanent Makeup is that you are implanting pigment under the skin. Once healed, you are effectively seeing that colour through a layer of your own skin, much like looking through a lightly frosted window.
The colour is very much there, but it will be muted by your skin, giving a much softer effect.
Once fully healed, you can always go over your lips with lipstick if you want to go for a bolder look.
What if I don’t like the result?
Every effort will be made to explain the process to you thoroughly, agree a shape & colour together, & check it with you once it is drawn on to make sure you still like it before the treatment begins.
Also you need to remember that the colour looks much darker when it is first done plus there may be some localised swelling, which can look a little startling at first. However the worst of this will fade in the first 3-5 days as the healing process gets going.
The lips go slightly pale while they heal & can look like the colour hasn’t taken. The colour will start to reveal itself by weeks 3-4 & will be fully visible by week 6.
If after 6 weeks you’re still not happy with it, some alterations to the colour & shape can be done at your top-up appointment.
As a last resort, you can get laser tattoo removal, but this will usually cost more than the original treatment.
Ultimately this is a tattoo procedure, & although the effects of permanent makeup are designed to look very natural, the decision to have it done should not be made lightly!
